Event Rules & Guidelines

Everything you need to know about participating in the CeX Dev Day '26 hackathon. Review these guidelines carefully to ensure your team is eligible for the elimination and final rounds.

📜 DevDay Rules

  • As a team, you can work on one shortlisted idea.
  • Teams should be made up exclusively of dev team members who are not a part of the Organising committee.
  • Leads to create an Epic in Jira and break-down the scope into tasks under it, monitor the progress for their respective teams.
  • Each team member can work 4 hrs per week on the selected idea project. A work log is compulsory.
  • All team members are expected to be present at the event.
  • Teams can gain advice and support from organisers, volunteers and others.
  • All work on the selected ideas should be done without hampering your current deliverables assigned by POs.
  • Teams can work on a common idea and should be judged on the quality of their work.
  • Teams can use libraries, frameworks, or open-source code in their projects.
  • Every team is entitled to Rs. 5000 to use paid services. This will be reimbursed by the company. Any amount above that will have to be borne by the team.
  • Each team will be restricted to the time allotted to them for presentation and Q&A. No additional time will be given under any circumstances.
  • Demo Time - 20 minutes
  • Q&A Time - 10 minutes

💻 Demos

  • Teams are strongly encouraged to present a demo of your project. You will not only be judged on the quality of your idea and its technical implementation but also on your team's capability to present that idea. So put your best foot forward and present a great demo to the judges.
  • Some things to consider during the demo:
  • You are encouraged to present a working demo of your project, even if it has only part of the functionality.
  • Completion is only one part of the judging criteria, so you might still do well.
  • Giving a demo is a chance to share with others what you learned and what you tried to build.
  • For those of you who don't have anything to demo, you can give a presentation and share your learnings. Remember every product was once a beta before it matured to production.

🏆 Elimination Round

  • Top 8 projects will be selected for the final round.
  • These criteria will guide judges but ultimately judges are free to make decisions based on their gut feeling of which projects are the most impressive and most deserving.
  • We encourage every dev team member to participate, collaborate, and push the boundaries of what is technically possible at CeX.

💡 Remember!

  • The competition is just a part of the Dev Day Event. To make the most out of the event, try something new, learn from each other, and make new friends! At the end of the day the skills you learn and the friends you make might lead to the next big thing.
  • None of us is as smart as all of us.
  • Happy learning @ CeX!!!
